We are an NGO by the name Baba Seed Foundation, founded by J. Ashok Kumar. Our mission is to serve nature and humanity through afforestation efforts. We believe in the power of tree plantation and work tirelessly to create a greener future.
Since our establishment in the year 2001, we have collaborated with schools, colleges, cooperative organizations, and educational institutes to promote afforestation initiatives. Our organization has been officially registered, with our registration number being 500.
Through our plantation programs, we have developed the concept of Seed Balls, a sustainable and effective method of reforestation. These seed balls are composed of mud, wood dust, and essential ingredients like chili powder and water, which protect them from insects and external threats. Once dispersed on barren land, these seed balls remain viable for over 18 months. Upon coming into contact with water, they begin their germination process, eventually growing into fruit-bearing trees over a few years.
The trees grown through this method yield fruits that serve as a food source for humans, birds, and animals. This ensures that any living being that approaches the tree has access to nourishment. Studies show that fruit-bearing trees contribute to 7 different spheres of life, including human sustenance and ecological balance. These trees have the potential to thrive for 80 to 100 years, providing long-term environmental and social benefits.
Increasing our fruit consumption by 40% could significantly reduce various diseases affecting human health today.
Our goal is to reconstruct and rebuild urban forests across India. Through dedicated efforts, we have successfully implemented plantation programs in Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Karnataka, and Telangana, with approvals from various organizations, including the Indian Army.
